You’re over 40.
You think you’re “slowing down,” both in your ability to improve your body and with regards to your energy levels, metabolism, injuries, etc., because you’re getting older.
It’s so sad…
You’re just making excuses. Yep - you are NOT a victim of your age. Sorry boys! You’re a victim of your mindset. And that’s on you.
I work with tons of guys, myself included, who are well over 40 and have strength, less fat, more muscle, energy, active sex lives, etc.
We’re not better than you. But we changed our minds.
We’ve learned that taking the easy way out - the path of least resistance - gets you nowhere fast. “Eh, I'm old. People slow down and lose energy, motivation, things start to hurt…It’s just what happens!” Time for that easy-chair: “Lazyboy” starts to sound less like an insult and more like your favorite seat… If you blame your age then you don’t have to put the hard work in to improve your body, and ultimately become happier. You’re not slowing down because of your age - you are slowing down because you’re choosing to. Either because it’s easier, or maybe you just don’t care. And hey, that’s ok! Your body. Your life. Whatever makes you happy. BUT… Once you realize that you have the power to change your mind, you have the ability to change your body. It’s hard! There’s a lot of resistance involved. You might even call it...wait for it...
-The Path of Most Resistance-
It’s moving into, and then THROUGH this path of resistance, that creates growth and change. If something feels easy, you’re not doing it right. You gotta get up and try something new (pro tip: it's only scary at first). So you get to decide whether to continue to make excuses and allow your body to degrade, lose muscle, gain more fat and probably make you pretty sad. Or do what is challenging, and the things that will ultimately bring change, growth, excitement, fulfillment and happiness. It’s up to you to choose which path to take.
