I worked at this GAYASS restaurant in NYC for a few years. It was of course a bunch of creatives working there who were trying to “make it” in the entertainment biz.

Somehow it ended up being almost all comedians. Perfect since I moved to New York to get into the comedy scene! Well that didn’t materialize, and it’s probably for the best since I LOVE what I do now :)

This one person who had worked there since they opened (and many years since, for a total of probably around 15 years or so) always talked about their diet and their desire to lose weight and have a great ass. Let’s call them Jan.

Jan was in their late 30s by the time I started working there.

I always felt bad for them because literally every day they said, “starting my diet and workouts tomorrow!” with seemingly no awareness that they were allowing themself to procrastinate and to eat whatever they wanted today, and thereby never making the changes they so deeply wanted.

They were also always working on a show that never seemed to get finished. Procrastination was a huge part of every aspect of their life.

Tomorrow always seems like a better day to get started since it means you can do whatever you want today! And getting started isn’t easy.

But you probably know where this is going - if you’re always planning to start to work on your body next month, after the holidays in January, or like Jan - tomorrow…

It never. Ever. Happens.

Are you also planning to start thinking about your health tomorrow or in January?

It’s never going to be easier than it is today. Because y’all…tomorrow you’re going to be a little slower…a bit heavier…and even less driven to be the healthy person you know you are meant to be!

You might be a comedian at heart like Jan and me.

But there’s nothing funny about procrastinating your health.

Don’t be a Jan!
