“The only thing we have to do is pay taxes and die.” -A teacher I once had. (He’s dead now). I’m reading some pretty dry finance books and learning a few things. Much of it I already know because I have this awesome dad who taught me about saving money. It’s important, but read further and find out what’s infinitely more important :)

You’re probably thinking about money these days because tax season is upon us, and the stock market is doing some cray sh** - yayyyyyy. This ain’t really about $$ so feel safe to read further :) When is the best time to start saving money? (If you said, “now!” then you’re talking to yourself.) If you thought, “now!” then you’re also correct. And yeah, those who started saving in their 20’s are in a pretty great spot. But starting to save now puts you in a much better position than if you wait until next year. Ok we know you’ve been putting money aside for retirement for a long time - GO YOU! Can you guess when is the best time to start caring for your body? Yep! The best time to start investing in your body is…NOW. Yeah yeah like saving money, we wish we’d started in our teens and kept working out every day until now, and have this crazy ripped body in our 40’s blah blah blah… (Basically no one does that). Most people never start. Their focus is on finances. Or maybe neither (eeeek!). What you planning on doing with all that money when your body is a total weak-ass wreck in your 60’s? Here’s what - you’ll spend it on trying to feel youthful again. What a waste of $$ that’ll be. Why not start building your Body Bank right now? Look around you - 99% of what you see will not be with you in 10 years. Maybe even 5 years. Now look in the mirror - everything you see will be with you for the rest of your life. So how much longer are you going to wait to start caring for you? I take care of my body 1st, and the $$ sorts itself out. Dad, you’re very wise but I’m going to take that wisdom to the next level - I’m saving $$ AND health. Because when I retire, I want to spend my money to hike up mountains in faraway lands…not to get knee replacements because I have no leg muscles and I wore out my joints. So I’ll pay my taxes, Mr. Shexneyder (spelling?)!! Guess I can’t avoid it.

But for me, the only things I really have to do are care for my body and LIVE.

The rest is going to happen anyway. xxoo, Coach Z.
