Get old or die...
Them’s are your two options.
And I’m NOT taking option 2 just yet so…
That leaves me with getting older.
And since that’s really the only option, I’m choosing to make the best of the time I have…no wait…
I’m going to THRIVE in the time I have here. And it’s most likely quite a bit of time - I’m 45 and what’s left is the length of my whole lifetime so far!
So I’ve made the choice to dig my stilettos in on my body’s security. But only in little bits at a time…
This is something I work on with clients - to think of their health as a journey (I know I know, it sounds cheesy)...
But if you imagine that we are on a journey and not some path with a defined end, you might better understand how we can gradually build in habits, mental shifts, and a new way of being that will continue to increase your healthspan.
What I mean is not trying to do everything all at once and then burning out, feeling like a failure because we didn’t hit our goal, and giving up.
That is incredibly common!
Here’s what we do instead: we assess where you are, and meet you there. Then present smart and achievable challenges which become progressively harder, so you can keep winning, learning and growing…
And one fine day (sooner than you think) you wake up and look in the mirror and think, “damn! I’m putting in the work and really proud of myself, and I LIKE what I see.”
And guess what!? We don’t stop. We keep doing this because it’s your lifestyle now. There’s no end to caring for yourself.
And you enjoy the process.
Taking things one step at a time makes starting a lot less scary.
Here’s one thing that’s for sure: if you don’t start, your journey will be neither incredible nor long. And it’s never too late to start.
So what’s stopping you from taking that first step on the incredible, long journey of life?
What are you waiting for?
