One of the reasons why your body is not changing the way you want, even though you're working out, is because you're doing just that - you’re only going and working out. You're not Training.

Here is the difference:

Working out is going in and finding the machines that you like, doing what you’re used to, what feels good or what you’ve seen others do (or on YouTube), and what's easiest at the gym. There is not necessarily anything wrong with that. Maybe this works because maybe you just like going to the gym and moving your body. You're not necessarily wanting things to change…

But that's not why you've read this far.

You're here because you want to figure out:

- how to get a bigger chest

- how to grow glutes

- how to get some ab definition

- how to get bigger shoulders

- The way to do that is you have to Train.

And the difference is training involves a plan. It requires:

- intentionality, focus, awareness

- knowing which muscles you are working on

- knowing how to keep yourself safe as you increase intensity

- the most effective order of exercise

- the amount of reps you should be doing

- the way exercises should feel - intensity matters!

- structure and the accountability of tracking/knowing how your weights are going up over time

It's about intentionality and focus. That's the difference between working out and training.

So, are you working out or are you training?
