You’re cozied up on the couch enjoying some reheated stuffing before you zap a piece of pecan pie…
Scrolling through Instagram and clicking on those incredibly well curated yet somewhat annoying yet kinda nice and still enticing ads for those big flowy pants and boxy shirts all the kids are wearing these days…
And thinking, “will I look silly in these? Because they sure would be nice to cover my insecurities I’ve been feeling since the Covid weight gain started almost 6 years ago and never stopped.”
You look down at your belly and think, “maybe I can’t even lose it - I AM over 40 now after all.”
And yet we see guys in their 40’s and 50’s who have somehow figured out how to lose fat, gain muscle, and look damned confident.
So what am I doing wrong!? I’m going to the gym and I “watch what I eat…”
Well, you’re right. You’re over 40 now. You absolutely can’t do what you did in your 20’s or even 30’s and look the way you want.
At this stage of mid-life: our stress levels are their highest, we have less free time than ever before, our back is tight and knees are aching, our hormones are dropping and it's harder to sleep/build muscle/get hard…
And you can not just “watch what you eat” and “go to the gym a few times a week” to ultimately feel incredible in your body.
We need:
1. Ultra-specific workouts
2. The right macros
3. A schedule that builds in the right amount of exercise and lots of rest time
4. A reframing of how we see ourselves, what we can expect and how long that might take
5. Accountability so we don’t get off track over and over again like we have in the past
Here’s the good news:
1. You’re more driven now to care for your body and for better reasons
2. You have financial security and can get expert help, like you do with your home projects
3. You’re younger now and this is all easier than it will ever be.
So…what are you waiting for?
